Have you ever prayed intensely for help and received an answer in the form of an encouraging visit from a spiritually mature Christina?
Hey, if Christina had come over when I prayed, I might still be praying!!

paragraph 7. at some point, baruch, who may have belonged to a prominent family, began to seek great things for himself.
perhaps he began to nurture personal ambitions or a desire for material prosperity.

'YOU MAY BE A TALIBAN IF...'

my cousin passed away last week from cancer at the age of 49. the cancer spread so fast it took our family by surpise.
we figured she had a couple of years instead of months.
she left 4 children(3 were baptised and 1 was disfellowshipped a couple of years ago).
Sounds like they fit the first and last part of verse 3, to a "T":
http://www.watchtower.org/bible/2ti/chapter_003.htm
"having no natural affection" and "without love of goodness"
lets say you get disfellowshipped.. then move 1000 or more miles away.. how would the elders find out if you're df'd if you do the following:.
go to a local kingdom hall, ask for a bible study..... when asked for name change the first name slightly, then get re-baptized 4-6 months later.. do elders run your name through a list?
you would be a witness in mgood standing, just don't tell about your previous location details!.
Others have managed to get their cards out of the cong. files and then they don't exist anymore.
I believe there are congregation secretaries out there that would hand you your publisher cards if you slipped them some green, if you wanted them that badly...
as far as i know, there's been nothing new on this front.
i first heard the rumor over the summer, and most of us assumed the change would be implemented in september, the beginning of the service year, yet nothing's happened.
should we admit to being deceived, or is there some reason to believe the reduction of hours is coming soon, sort of like armageddon..
Saw this on an active-JW board today:
It was announced at our meeting this week that a brother at Bethel
addressed this rumor at Breakfast. Time reduction is a rumor. He said
this is an example of rumors that get started and spread because we
don't wait on food at the proper time. It can be discouraging to many
pioneers who might be having difficulty getting in their time and then
are disapointed when they find it is just a rumor.
Many pioneers in our congregation were waiting for this announcementnt
(including me) this laid it to rest. Back to work wiser.
the january 2009 okm has a different format.
what is particularly unusual, but not unexpected, is that it does not have the field service report.
instead, it has service report highlights.
Thanks for the link, Watson. I had searched for a thread and didn't find one. Using incorrect keywords.

The January 2009 OKM has a different format. What is particularly unusual, but not unexpected, is that it does not have the field service report. Instead, it has Service Report Highlights. It appears the service years won't be reported like prior years.
Hmmm... I wonder why?!? (I think we know)
Congrats! She's STILL taller than you! ;-)
the apostle paul said that women should be silent in congregation meetings and not flap their traps.
if they need to talk about something, they can talk about it with their husband when they get home.
so why does the wbts pick and choose which verses they apply and which they do not?
I am a woman, and thought I read that scripture regarding women remaining silent in the church, I always wondered then WHY God refers to the Church as a WOMAN, bride of Christ?
Well, I don't know the answer to your question, but it WOULD help explain Revelation 8:1... (ducking)
the following youtube video made by a young person who is unbaptized and hopes to become a publisher says that the word "rapture" isn't in the bible.
a comment on the video says that the words "disfellowship", and "god's organization" aren't in the bible either and that the name jehovah isn't written in the new testament aka greek scriptures.
can we further enlighten this young person as to how many words jws typically use that aren't in the bible?
